Soccer Game Preview: Kearny vs. High Tech SD

Kearny is 1-7 against High Tech SD since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Kearny Komets will challenge the High Tech SD Storm at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Kearny is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Mira Mesa. While losing is never fun, the Komets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 913th, while the Marauders are ranked 163rd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for High Tech SD, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hoover a 1-0 shutout on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Storm as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Kearny's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-2. As for High Tech SD, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10-1.
