Soccer Game Preview: Centennial vs. Corona

The Centennial Huskies will head out to challenge the Corona Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Centennial is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Roosevelt on Thursday. Centennial fell just short of Roosevelt by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Mustangs are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Corona faced off against Norco on Saturday. Neither Corona nor Norco could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Panthers have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Corona's draw makes their record 7-5-2 this season. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-2.
