Volleyball Recap: White Pine Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

It's playoff time, and White Pine had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the North Tahoe Lakers on Friday. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Lakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2019.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-12, 19-25, 25-14.

Leading White Pine to victory were Savanna Pratt and Layla Ruesch. Pratt had seven digs and four aces, while Ruesch had nine digs and one assist. That's the most aces Pratt has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: White Pine was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Tahoe only served nine.

Despite the loss, North Tahoe had strong showings from Marlo Johnson, who had 30 digs, and Ximena Trinidad Castellano, who had 12 digs. Johnson has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

White Pine is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-7 record this season. As for North Tahoe, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 20-6.

White Pine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against GV Christian on the 8th. North Tahoe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
