Softball Recap: Crisp Academy Drops Season-High Score on Valwood

Crisp Academy took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Valwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-14 win over the Valiants on Thursday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Crisp Academy pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Valwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Crisp Academy will venture away from home to challenge Southwest Georgia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Valwood, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Irwin County at 4:00 p.m. on September 8.
