Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Devin Dawson and Jackson Dickinson Lead the Gregory School to Victory

There's no place like home for The Gregory School, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 71-54 win over the Bisbee Pumas on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Leading The Gregory School to victory were Jackson Dickinson and Devin Dawson. Dickinson went 6 for 12 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Dawson dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten boards, and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Dawson a new career-high. Amay Munjal was another key player, putting up eight points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: The Gregory School was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bisbee only racked up six assists.

When it comes to explaining why Bisbee lost, don't look at Sebastian Lopez. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 53.7% of Bisbee's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Wright, who had 12 points.

The Gregory School's record is now 14-10. As for Bisbee, they moved to 13-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The Gregory School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bisbee, they will square off against San Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bisbee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.
