Softball Recap: Ankeny's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Ankeny's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Roosevelt Roughriders. The win was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ankeny pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Ankeny has already played their next match, a 12-10 defeat against Ames on the 20th. As for Roosevelt, they will take on Ottumwa at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
