Football Recap: Brady Takes a Loss

Brady had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it six. They came up short against the Hyannis Longhorns, falling 56-30. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Longhorns from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Brady still got an impressive performance from Cinch Sanger, who rushed for 71 yards and three scores.

As for Hyannis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games.

Beau Rice continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 196 yards and one TD while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Those 196 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ely Van Renan, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brady will take on Maxwell at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Hyannis, they will square off against Sandhills/Thedford at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
