Recap: Southwestern Academy Sun vs. International School of Los Angeles Lions
The Southwestern Academy Sun lost against the International School of Los Angeles Lions back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Southwestern Academy fell just short of International School of Los Angeles by a score of 21-19.
Several Sun players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Valza Jusufi, who scored five points along with 22 rebounds and three steals. Jusufi has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Marifer Durand, who scored four points along with nine steals and seven rebounds.
Southwestern Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for International School of Los Angeles, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4.
Southwestern Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Sequoyah School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sequoyah School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for International School of Los Angeles, they will head out on the road to face off against Mesrobian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mesrobian's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so International School of Los Angeles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
