Basketball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

Hoover won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers and fell 69-22. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Panthers are ranked 59th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Joaquin Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sienna Evans, who went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points and five boards. The match was Evans' third in a row with at least ten points. Alexa Perryman was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 9-10. As for San Joaquin Memorial, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Hoover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-27 loss against Bullard on the 16th. San Joaquin Memorial has also already played their next game, a 59-18 win against Torres on the 16th.
