The Palm Desert Aztecs won the last time they faced the Big Bear Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Palm Desert strolled past Big Bear with points to spare, taking the game 51-32. Given Palm Desert's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while Big Bear is ranked 1127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palm Desert found their leader in underclassman Katelyn Gallagher, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Gallagher has scored at least 25% of Palm Desert's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Tethal, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

Palm Desert is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Big Bear, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
