Basketball Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Redwood Giants

The Miramonte Matadors will challenge the Redwood Giants at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miramonte will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, Miramonte earned a 48-40 victory over Cornerstone Christian. Given the Matadors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Cougars are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Julia Quinn-Ferguson was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Maegan Eichenberger was another key player, putting up six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, 2025 welcomed Redwood with an 84-64 loss courtesy of Oakland Tech on Saturday.

Miramonte is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Redwood, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Miramonte came up short against Redwood when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 40-35. Can Miramonte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
