After soaring to ten runs the game before, Herscher was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 7-1 to the Providence Catholic Celtics. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Herscher saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Bayston, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Herscher's defeat dropped their record down to 25-9-1. As for Providence Catholic, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Herscher will head out on the road to take on Bishop McNamara at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fightin' Irish have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Providence Catholic, they will take on Lockport in a tournament on Saturday. The last three games the Porters have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
