Basketball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short at Home Against Ponderosa + How To Watch

St. Francis unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 38-34 to the Ponderosa Bruins on Monday. The Troubadours were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.

St. Francis' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elise Vipond, who posted 18 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi London, who had 14 points and four steals.

The victory got Ponderosa back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponderosa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
