The Standing Rock Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between Standing Rock and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa wasn't particularly close, with Standing Rock falling 26-8. Standing Rock lost against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa in their previous head to head last Saturday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 18-12 score last time.
Thane Beheler rushed for nine yards and a touchdown. Leondre Twinn was his top target, gaining 85 total yards. On the ground, Ryan Weddell rushed for 36 yards.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa can attribute much of their success to Easton Lawrence, who gained 80 total yards and two touchdowns. Keenan Clark got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Standing Rock's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa, Todd County, and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Standing Rock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa will head out on the road to face off against Todd County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
