Chowchilla wins going away against Liberty

Recap: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Liberty Hawks

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sierra, the Chowchilla Tribe were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Liberty with points to spare, taking the game 36-19. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chowchilla also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Chowchilla found their leader in underclassman Nour Escheik, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Escheik is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Shalaya Moore was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Chowchilla has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chowchilla's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fresno Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Fresno Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to take on Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverdale is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
