Basketball Game Preview: Pacifica Christian Tritons vs. Chaparral Pumas

The Pacifica Christian Tritons will take on the Chaparral Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pacifica Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-35 win over Troy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tritons.

Meanwhile, Chaparral hadn't done well against Murrieta Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Chaparral narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Murrieta Valley 48-45.

Chaparral found their leader in sophomore Zetta Faasua, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Faasua also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maya Ford, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Chaparral's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Pacifica Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
