Basketball Recap: Gillian Alves' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tomales over Laytonville

Tomales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 50-42 to the Laytonville Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-32 back in January.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gillian Alves, who posted 13 points. Nora Giacomini was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Tomales' defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Laytonville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, Tomales will welcome Mendocino at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Laytonville, they will venture away from home to face off against Round Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
