Baseball Recap: Victory Baptist Takes a Loss

Victory Baptist fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lanier Christian Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning by a score of 3-2. The contest marked the Warrior's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Asher Alexander made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Alexander is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Victory Baptist and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Lanier Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Victory Baptist will square off against Hearts Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hearts Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Victory Baptist surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Lakeview Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
