Recap: San Pasqual Academy Dragons vs. Borrego Springs Rams
The San Pasqual Academy Dragons were the 44-23 winner over the Borrego Springs Rams when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with San Pasqual Academy falling 26-8. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Borrego Springs to victory were Abigail Gonzalez and Melanie Urquidez. Gonzalez scored nine points along with four steals, while Urquidez scored ten points along with five steals. Gonzalez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
San Pasqual Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2. As for Borrego Springs, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
San Pasqual Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calexico Mission at 4:00 p.m. on January 18th. Calexico Mission comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Borrego Springs, they will stay at home for another game and welcome West Shores at 4:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
