Softball Recap: O'Neill Takes a Loss

If O'Neill was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Pierce on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell 8-4 to the Wayne Blue Devils on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost seven in a row.

O'Neill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Selby, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Selby has hit this season.

O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Wayne, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

O'Neill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-0 victory against Boone Central on the 27th. As for Wayne, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on the 27th.
