Baseball Game Preview: Midwest Central Raiders vs. Delavan Panthers

The Midwest Central Raiders will head out to square off against the Delavan Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Midwest Central and 11 for Delavan dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Midwest Central came up short against Illini Bluffs and fell 6-1.

Midwest Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calvin Young, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Young's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Delavan came up short against Havana on Tuesday, falling 16-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Ducks since April 17, 2017.

Trace Kight-Garlisch made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Midwest Central now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Delavan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Midwest Central suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Delavan when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
