Soccer Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado managed to keep up with Patrick Henry until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Coronado Islanders lost 5-2 to the Patrick Henry Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Islanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Patriots are ranked 80th).

Coronado has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. The victory (which was Patrick Henry's third in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Coronado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Patrick Henry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mater Dei Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
