Baseball Recap: Centaurus Has No Trouble Against Longmont

Centaurus had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-10 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Longmont Trojans with a sharp 7-1 win. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Liam Sweeney tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ari Schoenwald-Reed was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Centaurus is 5-2 when Schoenwald-Reed posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Logan Ukleja also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Longmont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly six runs.

On Longmont's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Blase, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
