Basketball Game Preview: Community Charter Titans vs. Reseda Regents

The Community Charter Titans will face off against the Reseda Regents at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Community Charter turned things around against Valley Oaks CES on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 34-8 margin over the Vanguards. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Reseda). Everything went their way against Panorama on Wednesday as Reseda made off with a 66-43 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-14.

Reseda had a senior duo take command as Zahra Numa posted 31 points and Olivia Rosales had 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Numa has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marisela Rosales, who earned seven points.

Reseda's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Community Charter, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7.

Community Charter might still be hurting after the 40-16 loss they got from Reseda in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Community Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
