Baseball Recap: Lincoln Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Lincoln had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Marysville Monarchs 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since April 13th.

Liam Bradley got the start for Lincoln and what a start it was: he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Bradley posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Derek Rivera-Whitfield, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Cam Lawrence also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Marysville, they dropped their record down to 11-14-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will head out to square off against Olentangy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Braves have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Marysville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
