Football Recap: Cimarron Piles Up the Points Against Larned

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cimarron). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over the Larned Indians. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bluejays just coasted through the last quarter.

Leading Cimarron to victory were McCoy Nash and Isayah Barranca. Nash rushed for 127 yards and four scores on only 11 carries, while Barranca gained 82 total yards and three touchdowns. Nash's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 127 rushing yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Cimarron proved: they limited Larned to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. The Bluejays didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.3.

Cimarron didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christian Kennedy and Barranca.

The victory (which was Cimarron's third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points over those games. As for Larned, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Cimarron didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-7 loss against Hugoton on the 10th. As for Larned, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 29-20 defeat against Southwestern Heights on the 10th.
