Softball Recap: Cuba Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Cuba brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over the Richland Bears on Tuesday. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 14, 2024 (when they won 23-8).

Jerri Forester was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Kaylynn Wilkerson was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Cuba was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .578. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Cuba's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Cuba will look to defend their home field on Thursday against St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. The Wildcats are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Richland, they will challenge Newburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
