Recap: Connellsville Falcons vs. Penn-Trafford Warriors

The Connellsville Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Penn-Trafford, falling 65-27. Connellsville has struggled against Penn-Trafford recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Lauren Marton was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Penn-Trafford. Marton continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kamryn Pieper was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Connellsville bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Penn-Trafford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Connellsville will take on Oakland Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Oakland Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches. Penn-Trafford won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Franklin Regional at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Franklin Regional will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Penn-Trafford is ranked 113th).
