Football Recap: California School for the Deaf-Riverside Piles Up the Points Against California Lutheran

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask California School for the Deaf-Riverside). They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 88-32 victory over the California Lutheran C-Hawks. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the C-Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Morgan Hawkins was his usual excellent self, picking up 108 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in one rushing score.

California School for the Deaf-Riverside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

California School for the Deaf-Riverside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lucas Gough and Jasper Martinez. Gough is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last six games he's played. Jordan Young was another major factor on D, picking up 0.5 sacks, making five total tackles (4.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

When it comes to explaining why California Lutheran lost, don't look at Tyler Treder. Despite the final result, he picked up 114 receiving yards and three scores. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Joel Doebler, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

California School for the Deaf-Riverside's record is now 8-1. As for California Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

As of now, neither California School for the Deaf-Riverside nor California Lutheran have any future games scheduled.
