The Scotts Valley Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Francis Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Scotts Valley beat Gunn 45-39.
Abigail Shi was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Williams, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, St. Francis came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Soquel by a score of 38-30.
St. Francis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maya Calfee out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Calfee has scored at least 25% of St. Francis' points. Aaliysah Gomez was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 11 rebounds and 8 steals.
Scotts Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for St. Francis, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Scotts Valley haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. It's a different story for St. Francis, though, as they've been averaging 14.2 per game. Given Scotts Valley's sizeable advantage in that area, St. Francis will need to find a way to close that gap.
