Football Recap: Moore County Raiders vs. Cascade Champions
If Moore County was riding high fresh off their 42-7 takedown of Community last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell 17-10 to the Cascade Champions on Friday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Champions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Gavin Wise threw for 51 yards and one touchdown. Luke Stephens was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Hunter Travis rushed for 30 yards.
Sam Bradley had an outrageously good game for Cascade as he threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 92 yards on only 11 carries. Nate Zimmerman helped out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards.
Moore County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cascade, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Looking ahead, Moore County will be playing in front of their home fans against Goodpasture Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cascade, they are taking a road trip to take on Summertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
