Football Recap: Walter Johnson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Walter Johnson lost against Churchill back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats lost 28-6 to the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Bulldogs since November 3, 2017.

Despite the loss, Walter Johnson still got an impressive performance from Jake Forburger, who rushed for 86 yards on only nine carries.

Churchill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Zhang, who rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one TD. Zhang also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 0.5 sacks and making six total tackles. Hunter Humphries was another key player, throwing for 112 yards and a pair of TDs.

Walter Johnson now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Churchill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Walter Johnson will head out on the road to take on Wootton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Churchill, they will be playing at home against Whitman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
