Robinson is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will welcome the Lorena Leopards at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Robinson put up the most points they have all season last Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 70-22 win over Hillsboro. With the Rockets ahead 49-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Robinson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Moreno out in front who rushed for 151 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Moreno has posted since back in October of 2024. Brice McCurdy was another key signal caller, throwing for 234 yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Robinson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Lorena's game on Thursday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lampasas. The matchup marked the Leopards' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Robinson will have to contain Jaxon Blancett as he made an impact in Lorena's last game. He threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was Carson Miller, who picked up 113 receiving yards and one score.
Robinson's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lorena, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Robinson has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 260 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Lorena has preferred to attack from the air: they average 347.8 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
