Softball Recap: Twin River Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Twin River had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Blue River by a score of 3-2. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Blue River apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Laynie Allen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, JLee Van Driel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times she's played.

Coincidentally, Twin River and Blue River will both be playing Guardian Angels Central Catholic the next time they take the field. Blue River will host the Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Titans will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
