Softball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Columbus's offense. They came up short against the Lincoln Northeast Rockets on Wednesday, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in September.

Columbus got a good showing from Jaci Harrington, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

Columbus has also been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-24 record this season. As for Lincoln Northeast, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-22.

Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln Northeast, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 defeat against Gretna on the 9th.
