            Softball Recap: Evans Knights vs. Washington-Wilkes Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Evans had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Washington-Wilkes Tigers get on the board and left with  a   5-0  win  on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Brittney Smith made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in August of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  double and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Serenity Campos, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 Evans  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in five consecutive  matchups  dating back to last season.
 Evans has  already played their next  game (against Screven County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Washington-Wilkes, they have also already played their next contest,  a  9-1  loss against Loganville Christian Academy on the 8th.
