Softball Recap: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Round Valley Elks

Joseph City hadn't done well against Round Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Elks 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 11 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sahzira Schoby made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Amber Neill was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of April Neill, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Joseph City hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Round Valley struck out 11 times.
