Basketball Game Preview: Shamokin Area Indians vs. Lewisburg Green Dragons

Shamokin Area and Lewisburg are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Shamokin Area Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lewisburg Green Dragons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Shamokin Area is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Central Columbia, falling 63-39. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Lewisburg waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 60-13. The Green Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 26 points or more this season.

Lewisburg's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.7 points per game. As for Shamokin Area, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-4.
