Softball Recap: Sullivan Comes Up Short

If Sullivan was feeling good fresh off their 13-0 takedown of St. Clair on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Rolla Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 5-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Mia Pridemore put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Pridemore was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Pridemore wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rae Corwin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run. Another was Evelynn Harris, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Sullivan's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Rolla, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Sullivan will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against St. James at 4:30 p.m. Rolla will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' game: after the Eagles face off against the Tigers, they'll take on Rolla again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
