Baseball Game Preview: Groves Rebels vs. Beach Bulldogs

Groves is 9-1 against Beach since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Groves has three straight victories, Beach has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Groves is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Hardeeville 22-10 last Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won five games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jadahri Steele, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Groves: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Beach lost 19-3 to Jenkins last Tuesday.

Beach's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Groves, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Groves took their win against Beach when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 17-4 score. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
