Soccer Recap: Portal Comes Up Short

After flying high against McIntosh County Academy last Friday, Portal came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Bulloch Academy Gators on Tuesday, falling 6-1. Portal were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Blake Shipman, who's now up to ten this season.

Portal's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Bulloch Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Portal duke it out with Swainsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bulloch Academy, they will host St. Andrew's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bulloch Academy will be up against St. Andrew's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.67 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
