Baseball Recap: Phoebus Comes Up Short

After flying high against Heritage on Monday, Phoebus came back down to earth. The Phantoms fell just short of the Menchville Monarchs by a score of 9-8 on Tuesday. The Phantoms were not able to make up for their defeat to the Monarchs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

King Robinson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Phoebus is 4-1 when Robinson posts two or more runs, but 2-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Gillies, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Phoebus' loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Menchville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

While Phoebus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
