Soccer Game Preview: Mark Keppel vs. Schurr

The Mark Keppel Aztecs will head out to take on the Schurr Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mark Keppel will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Thursday, then bounced right back against Montebello on Monday. Mark Keppel blew past Montebello 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Aztecs, who have now won eight matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Schurr was forced to settle for a draw. They and San Gabriel finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Monday.

Mark Keppel's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those seven contests. Schurr's draw gives them a new season record of 5-11-1.

Everything went Mark Keppel's way against Schurr in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Mark Keppel made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mark Keppel since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
