Basketball Recap: Annenberg's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Annenberg hadn't done well against Central City Value recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Annenberg Panthers came out on top against the Central City Value Jaguars by a score of 36-26. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 27-22 win the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Central City Value's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Scarlet Zelaya, who posted eight points and seven rebounds, and Jocelyn Gutierrez, who earned 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That was a full 42.3% of Central City Value's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.0 points per game. As for Central City Value, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
