Basketball Game Preview: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns

The Sage Creek Bobcats will take on the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Sage Creek: they have been struggling with ten straight losses at home, while Rancho Buena Vista has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

On Wednesday, Sage Creek took a blow against Carlsbad, falling 60-16. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 852nd, while the Lancers are ranked 272nd).

Meanwhile, Rancho Buena Vista beat Torrey Pines 71-63 on Wednesday.

Rancho Buena Vista has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points over those games. As for Sage Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-20.

Sage Creek was dealt a bruising 72-23 loss at the hands of Rancho Buena Vista in their previous meeting back in January. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sage Creek was down 37-9.
