Baseball Game Preview: Chamblee Bulldogs vs. Tri-Cities Bulldogs

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Tri-Cities took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Chamblee, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Chamblee needed a bit of extra time to put away Lakeside. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Vikings. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Robbie Berkman looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Chamblee is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Chamblee's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Solomon, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Another was Leo Waasdorp, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Tri-Cities was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to Dunwoody. One positive for the Bulldogs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Chamblee's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Tri-Cities, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
