Horizon is a perfect 4-0 against Westminster since August of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hawks will welcome the Wolves at 10:00 a.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
If Horizon beats Westminster with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Everything went the Hawks' way against Silver Creek on Thursday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaiya Barela made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024.
In other batting news, Larrissa Arvizo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Adrianna Jaramillo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Horizon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Westminster beat Northglenn 10-5 on Thursday.
Elizabeth Flores spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Magaly Santacruz Vasquez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleesa Talmich Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Horizon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Westminster, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Westminster's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Horizon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Westminster, though, as they've been averaging only 2.1 strikeouts. Will Horizon keep running through batters, or will the Wolves buck the trend?
