Garces Memorial is 9-1 against Frontier since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Garces Memorial took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Stockdale a 3-0 shutout. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Mustangs are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Garces Memorial hit Stockdale with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Olivia Howlett, Caitlin Asaro, and Paige Dixon.

Meanwhile, Frontier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to Liberty.

Garces Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which somehow still isn't as good as their 16-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 13 matches. As for Frontier, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1.

Garces Memorial took their victory against Frontier in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Garces Memorial since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
