Football Recap: Bridge City's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

If Bridge City was feeling good fresh off their 33-13 takedown of Livingston last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals took a 24-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears on Friday. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Although Bridge City took the loss, they still got scores from Luke Nelson and Ayden Wiley.

Bridge City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kolby Leblanc and Keagan Trahan. Trahan is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last seven games he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bridge City fell to 7-1. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.
