Basketball Recap: Cathedral Catholic Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Cathedral Catholic won the last time they faced Granite Hills, and Mckinnley Hanlon did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Cathedral Catholic Dons' way against the Granite Hills Eagles on Friday as the Cathedral Catholic Dons made off with a 55-34 victory thanks in part to Hanlon, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cathedral Catholic's points.

Lilly Teresi was another key player, putting up 11 points. Those 11 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Granite Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylene Hughes posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Kerstena Tomika, who scored nine points.

Cathedral Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Granite Hills, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Cathedral Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-34 win against Village Christian on the 25th. Granite Hills has also already played their next match, a 50-41 victory against Helix on the 28th.
